Adan Canto, the acclaimed Mexican singer and actor from X-Men and The Cleaning Lady,-
has passed away at 42 due to appendiceal cancer.
Publicist Jennifer Allen shared that Canto kept his diagnosis-
private, leaving a deep impact on those who knew his spirit.
Raised in Texas, Canto began as a singer-songwriter in Mexico City at-
16, later making his TV debut in Estado de Gracia in 2009.
His American debut was in 2013 on Kevin Williamson’s The Following, followed by-
roles in Designated Survivor, Narcos, and X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Canto starred in Halle Berry’s "Bruised" and "Agent Game," also directing two short films in 2014 and 2020.
Filming The Cleaning Lady's third season, Canto, as Armand Morales,
had to stop due to illness but hoped to rejoin later.
Known for his unique blend of sensitivity and humility, friends-
highlighted Canto's broad smile and boisterous laugh.
Designated Survivor co-star Kiefer Sutherland expressed heartbreak on-
Instagram, praising Canto's dedication. Adan Canto is survived by wife Stephanie-
Ann and children Roman Alder (3) and Eve Josephine (18 months).
