MrBeast, the most followed YouTuber, declined Elon Musk's request to upload videos to X, citing-
the platform's inability to generate comparable revenue to YouTube.
In his latest video, MrBeast informed his 224 million-plus subscribers about the upload, prompting a user,
DogeDesigner, and Elon Musk to suggest uploading on X as well.
Elon Musk envisions X as an "everything app" similar to China's WeChat, combining various features
like instant messaging, social media, long-form video content, and video conferencing.
MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, expressed that X couldn't fund the-
production costs of his videos, even with a billion views, unlike YouTube.
YouTube creators in the YouTube Partner Program can earn between $3,400 and $30,000 per 1 million video
views, while X creators earn money through engagement and advertising revenue.
According to Life Math Money, X creators reportedly get only $7 per 1-
million impressions based on the platform owner's earnings. This marks the second time in six months-
that Mr Beast rejected Elon Musk's invitation to join X, projecting a $2.5 billion drop in ad sales for 2023.
In June, Musk had urged MrBeast to post on X, emphasizing competitive earnings per view,
but MrBeast's substantial income from YouTube remains unmatched.
