Raheem Morris named head coach of the Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons have hired Raheem Morris as their new head coach.

Morris was previously the interim head coach for the Falcons in 2020.

He makes history as the first Black full time head coach in franchise history.

Morris expresses his joy and appreciation for the opportunity to return to Atlanta.

Morris returns to Atlanta after three successful seasons as the Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator.

He had a six year run in Atlanta before, starting in 2015.

Prior to Atlanta, Morris was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach for three years.

 He had a year off from the NFL in 2006 when he was the defensive coordinator at Kansas State.

Morris got his professional start in Tampa Bay.

He was born on Sept. 3, 1976, in Irvington, New Jersey, and attended college at Hofstra.

The Falcons began their search for a new head coach immediately after parting ways with Arthur Smith.
