Rivian Recall Detail: – Rivian is recalling over 2,300 R1S, R1T, and EDV models in the U.S.

Reason: Headlights may not meet production specs or Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

Affected Models and Date: R1S (manufactured between April 7, 2023, and March 25, 2023)

R1T (built between September 9, 2023, and March 25, 2024)

EDV (assembled from April 27, 2023, to March 15, 2024)

Issue Identified: Headlights aimed slightly too low. Risk: Vehicles may not adequately illuminate the road, increasing crash risk, especially at night.

Investigation and Resolution: Potential issue first found on February 7, 2024.

Investigation revealed some headlights were not adjusted correctly.

Resolution: Owners will be notified by mail by July 6. Rivian outlets will check and correct headlight assemblies on affected vehicles free of charge.

Previous Recall: 127 R1T and R1S models recalled for missing airbag labels.

Solution: Rivian mailed airbag stickers to owners for dashboard placement.

Upcoming Release: Rivian to release 2025 R1T and R1S in the U.S. later this year.
