5-Star Accommodations: Travelers in 5-star accommodations face a 186% increase, with a new

nightly rate of €10.73 ($11.75) compared to the 2023 rate of €3.75 ($4.11).

4-Star Hotels: Those staying in 4-star hotels will experience a 182% increase, with a new nightly rate of-

€8.13 ($8.91) compared to the 2023 rate of €2.88 ($3.15). 1-Star Hotels, Holiday Villages, Guest Rooms, or Hostels:

More modest increase for these accommodations, with a new rate of €2.60 ($2.85) compared to the 2023 rate of €1 ($1.10).

Paris Olympics Impact:The decision to raise taxes precedes the Paris Olympics, with hotel

prices already soaring, averaging over 300% higher than usual for the summer games.

Paris expects over 11 million visitors during the Olympics, commencing on July 26.

Other cities, such as Amsterdam, have also raised tourist taxes, with a 12.5% increase for this year,

applicable to both overnight stays and cruise ship visits. Iceland has introduced new taxes to support-

climate and sustainability goals. Venice plans to implement a fee for day trippers in addition to existing overnight guest taxes.
