- Volkswagen is launching the first all-electric performance hatchback from its-

German brand five decades after it released the first Volkswagen Golf GTI in Germany. 

- The new Volkswagen ID GTI concept car incorporates many of the features found on VW's previous and -

popular ID2 all-electric hatchback concept, which seemed not to be destined for the U.S. market at the time. 

- Our comprehensive look at the new EV hot hatch, including how the brand intends to -

bring it to the United States in the near future, is provided below. 

- As of right now, VW has confirmed for the U.S. market the ID4 EV SUV, the ID Buzz EV van, and the ID7 EV sedan. 

- VW has already confirmed the new ID GTI Concept is based on the same MEB platform, and the ID2 all will be -

based on an extended version of the same. VW will eventually release a production version of the ID GTI Concept, likely in 2026.

- As for the ID GTI Concept, it measures 161.6 inches in length and has a -

wheelbase of 102.4 inches, a height of 59 inches and a width of 72.4 inches.  

- There is also a front light bar that is illuminated behind a lit-up VW badge on the ID -

GTI Concept in addition to the signature red nose line and badging of the GTI brand. 

- A black roof spoiler is mounted at the rear of the vehicle, accompanied by black "air guides" -

on either side of the rear window, together with an extremely wide LED third brake light.
